Regular Eye Examinations
Your eye health is our top priority. That's why all our patients undergo regular examinations by our ophthalmologists. This ensures that your eyes receive optimal care and that your contact lenses remain perfectly fitted.
Let us advise you and experience vision anew - comfortable, safe, and tailored to your individual needs.
Who can wear contact lenses?
A prerequisite for wearing contact lenses is individual suitability, i.e., the anatomical conditions of the eye as well as the motivation of the prospective contact lens wearer, but generally also the necessary hygiene in handling and caring for the contact lenses.
What refractive errors can be corrected?
- Refractive errors of any size (nearsightedness/farsightedness)
- Astigmatism of any size (corneal curvature)
- Presbyopia (age-related farsightedness)
- Irregular corneal curvature
- Keratoconus
- Anisometropia (unequal vision in both eyes)
- Iris defects
Various reasons can make wearing contact lenses sensible or necessary
- Occupation
- Aphakia (lenslessness)
- Corneal diseases (e.g., keratoconus/irregularities/keratoplasty)
- Flexibility in sports and leisure
- Aesthetics
Rigid (hard) contact lenses
Rigid contact lenses have a fixed, precisely defined shape and must be adapted exactly to the individual conditions of the eye. The modern materials are very oxygen permeable, which makes wearing them more comfortable. Since they can absorb very little fluid, “dry eyes” can also be treated.
Soft contact lenses
Soft contact lenses absorb tear fluid and conform closely to the eye. The initial tolerance is very high. Due to the absorption of fluid, metabolic products are also absorbed and the tear film is reduced.
To determine which type of contact lens is best suited for you, we will have an in-depth consultation with you about your individual wearing preferences and needs. This will be accompanied by a precise determination of your refractive error, as well as an examination of the anterior segment of your eye using diagnostic equipment. Suitable contact lenses can usually be fitted immediately. We will also provide you with comprehensive information about the necessary care, insertion and removal of the contact lenses, and answer any other questions you may have.
