Dry Eye

Chronic symptoms of dry eye are exacerbated by insufficient tear production, excessive tear evaporation due to environmental factors (e.g., screen work), or a deficiency in meibomian glands. About nine out of ten cases of dry eye are related to environmental factors and personal lifestyle habits. Occasionally, autoimmune diseases or diabetes can be responsible for dry eye.
At the Eye Clinic, we strive to offer solutions to patients with dry eye that enhance their eye comfort. The treatment for dry eye depends on the individual needs of the patient.

Beyond the use of various artificial tear substitutes, eyelid hygiene can help to remove blockages in the Meibomian glands and improve the quality of the tear film. This treatment must be repeated regularly.
